Volunteer Opportunities:

Tutor/Mentor (During the School Year)

Responsibilities: Monitor student study and homework groups for youth in grades 1-12; assist with homework and school projects as necessary.

Time of Day: 2:30-5:30 p.m.

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age and undergo criminal background check

Summer Volunteer (June, July, and August)

Responsibilities: Assist with our summer programming – this may mean helping to hand out free lunches during lunch hour, helping to run an activity, or just hang out and play games with our students!

Time of Day: Monday-Thursday 12:00-4:00pm

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age and undergo criminal background check

Interested volunteers should fill out our Volunteer Intake Form.

Board of Directors Member

Responsibilities: Attend monthly board meetings held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Assist the existing board members in overseeing financial statements, assisting in fundraising efforts, and guiding the organization through strategic planning.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, undergo a criminal background check, make a two-year commitment, have a strong commitment to Garden Quarter’s mission statement, and follow responsibilities as outlined in our Board of Directors Handbook.
